Why Bamboo?

As an environmentally conscious vegan, it was important to me to find a fabric that not only meets my baby’s needs, but also aligned with my personal values. Bamboo viscose checks off all the boxes and so much more!

Bamboo viscose is a natural textile made from the fibers of bamboo grass. The thin threads of the fiber are extracted from the bamboo pulp and are then spun and dyed for cloth weaving.

Silky, smooth & buttery soft

Since bamboo fibers are not chemically treated, the fibers remain smooth and intact, free of sharp jagged spikes (unlike that itchy wool!). This makes the fabric glide right against your baby’s skin hugging those little bums like a soft fluffy cloud. The most gentle fabric you’ll find for baby's delicate skin or eczema.

Anti-bacterial, Anti-fungal & Hypoallergenic

The bamboo grass contains a natural antimicrobial bio-agent called Bamboo Kun that is responsible for its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal characteristics. This bio-agent allows the grass to grow naturally without the need of pesticides or fertilizers. No chemicals in the growing process means no chemicals against your baby's skin! Something other textiles cannot claim. Other textiles are grown with pesticides sprayed onto the plants and even directly on the roots, getting deep into the plants and therefore an integral part of the fibers in those products.

Bamboo Kun remains even in the bamboo fibers of the garments, working its magic to kill bacteria and fungi and keep your Little Bum Bums fresh and clean for longer. No other fabric has this natural bacteria and odor resistant property.

Breathable & Temperature regulating

Bamboo is naturally thermoregulating since it’s both breathable and moisture absorbing. Bamboo is 40% more absorbent than even the finest organic cotton. It absorbs moisture away faster and keeps your baby’s skin cooler and dryer longer. Your baby will be kept cooler in the heat, and warmer in the cold.

Sustainable & eco-friendly

Bamboo is a naturally replenishing plant, meaning it regenerates on its own with no chemicals. Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants in the world with some species growing up to 1 inch every 40 minutes! Not only does it flourish on its own, but it also minimizes CO2 in the air and generates 35% more oxygen than an equivalent group of trees. Soaks up the bad and releases the good!

It's a no brainer that bamboo is not only the most superior fabric for both your baby and yourself, but also the environment!
